Flash fiction are stories that are extremely brief and small. They are also known as micro fiction, short shorts, post card fiction etc. Ernest Hemingway once famously bet that one could write a story in just six words.
The following are some flash fiction stories written by Ronnie Coleinger. Two of these stories were published.
As our lips joined, I touched the tip of his tongue with mine. He panicked and hurried back to his car. I jingled his car keys in the air.
I heard a sizzle. A tiny ripple appeared on the ponds moonlit surface. I looked up with a smile. God had shared a pebble from His Heavens.
The Last Rattle
I heard the rattle and moved my axe in front of me. The snake struck swiftly and then fell to my feet. It died from a splitting headache.
The pitcher stood ready, poised for the play. The buzz of the players stirred the night air. The pitcher moved swiftly; a fly was its prey.
She lay dying on the highway. I kissed her lips as she moved from an Earthly Life into Eternal Life. I felt her God comfort my soul.
I felt the cold and shivered. Slaps from behind made me cry. The sound of Mother’s voice comforted me. I knew then of her undying love.
The water in my glass began to tremble. I ran down twenty flights of stairs. When my feet hit the sidewalk, I looked up to the sky and heard God say, “Just teasing.”
